Our first Love Maroon Live Gold Athlete of the Week for spring sports is Mackenna Barth! We are recognizing Mackenna for track, but she is also involved in volleyball and basketball. Mackenna has had a great start to her track season! She has improved her hurdle and sprint times, as well as her throws. Her coach Kelley Walerius states, “I would nominate Mackenna this week because she’s an all-around athlete. This year she is in sprints, hurdles, and throwing discus for us. She’s a valuable asset to our team. Another reason I am nominating her is because of her attitude at practice. She is always ready to practice and excited to get better every day.” Mackenna carries this positive attitude with her to the classroom. She been on the A honor roll all throughout high school and hopes to continue that. Additionally, she wants to focus on getting some college done these next 2 years of high school. After high school, Mackenna plans to go to Mankato and study physiology and journalism. She hopes to run track or play volleyball if given the opportunity. Learn more about Mackenna Barth below:
