Scott West Wrestling Team Page Scott West Wrestling · Love Maroon Live Gold Athlete of the Week

Our Love Maroon Live Gold Athlete of the Week is Matt Randolph! Matt wrestles for the Scott West Panthers and has recently qualified for state this year (the only wrestler from Scott West)! This season he is 28-1, with his only loss being against the 14th ranked wrestler in the nation. Matt states, “This season I am 28-1 and my best match was actually my only loss. I say this because it shows how much I have grown as a wrestler in the past year. Last year when I wrestled this kid I lost 10-2. This year I lost 4-3 and almost pulled out the win in the last few seconds.” His coach has only great things to say about Matt:

“I have known Matt for several years now, one of the things I am most impressed about Matt is his wrestling IQ. He understands situations in matches that I see college wrestlers not understand. Matt is not good by luck or by being a super athlete, but rather his commitment to the sport. I am confident to say Matt out trains his opponents on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis. We are fortunate to have him as part of our young nucleus of wrestlers coming through the program. I look forward to working with him over the next few years.” -Jerold Stauffacher
